Peninsula Gaming is a Midwest-based conservative growth company that operates solely in rural markets.  Since 1999 we've built and acquired a group of casino properties which include: Diamond Jo Casino in Dubuque, IA, Diamond Jo Casino in Northwood, IA, Evangeline Downs Racetrack & Casino in Opelousas, LA and Amelia Belle Casino in Amelia, LA. and we look forward to opening Kansas Star Casino in Mulvane, KS early 2012. In 2008, the Diamond Jo Riverboat Casino moved to its new state-of-the-art home, a 188,000-square-foot, land-based entertainment complex. This new vision for entertainment gaming hosts 987 slots, 18 table games, 5 poker tables, an 800-person live music venue, a 30-lane bowling center, a 200-seat, live-action, freshly prepared buffet, and a 120-seat steakhouse and wine bar. It also features a full-service sports bar, 50-seat deli, and 1,763 parking spaces, including a covered ramp. The Diamond Jo Dubuque was also the nation's first-ever 100% Net Zero carbon emission-certified casino construction project.

In April 2005, Diamond Jo Northwood opened its doors. Based on its instant success, a large expansion project was undertaken immediately, growing the facility to its present 107,000 square feet. Diamond Jo Northwood hosts 952 slots, 22 table games, 7 poker tables, a 400-seat entertainment and community center, a live-action, freshly prepared 200-seat buffet, a 114-seat steakhouse, 1,300 parking spaces, and a third-party 102-room hotel. Casual dining is offered at a 45-seat Burger King restaurant and Subway restaurant.

Evangeline Downs was built in 2003 as a casino, live horse racing facility, and simulcast off-track betting facility. Evangeline Downs offers and broadcasts seasonal Thoroughbred and Quarter Horse racing and was recently host to the prestigious Quarter Horse Bank of America Challenge Championship. Evangeline Downs hosts 1,425 slots, 4 off-track betting parlors, 980-horse capacity stables, a 90-seat steakhouse, a Cajun-themed 312-seat buffet, a buffet, a 90-seat, 24-hours cafe, a sports bar, and 2,544 parking spaces. Ground was also recently broken on a new entertainment/community center and hotel.

On October 29, 2009, Peninsula acquired the Amelia Belle Casino, a riverboat casino in Amelia, Louisiana. The Amelia Belle offers 823 slots, 25 table games, and a full-service buffet. It benefits from a strong local market and is strategically located in south Louisiana in proximity to New Orleans and Baton Rouge.

 

Kansas Star Casino

Kansas Star Casino opened December 26, 2011. Peninsula Gaming’s newest casino is located in the heart of south central Kansas, just 18 miles south of Wichita. The full service casino offers table games, slots and video poker on their gaming floor and three dining options ranging from a gourmet hot dog stand to a deli style Panini shop and our Arena Grille. Peninsula Gaming won the bid to develop and operate the casino on Kansas Lottery’s behalf. Kansas Star’s next phase will include additional gaming positions, a fine dining restaurant and buffet. That phase is expected to open early in 2013. The final phase of development, scheduled to be completed in time for the 2015 equestrian season, will include a complete equestrian center which is expected to attract equestrian competitors and fans from throughout Kansas and neighboring states.
